What is Geocaching? Well, we can tell you that it is really fun!!! Pick up a GPS
(A global positioning satellite tool) and you can find get coordinates to find places that have hidden treasure.
The Society of Orion has a GPS and partaken the hunt to find treasures and most of all

The Society of Orion has traveled from Austin, MN which is located south of the Twin Cities all the way
Bena, MN which is located 3.5 hours north or so of the Twin Cities and east of Walker.
We have successfully found a few travel bugs and a couple very interesting ones especially the one that was
A huge dollar coin with quarters attached to it. On April 22, 2006; the Society of Orion attended for the first at the
Cache In/Trash Out which is sponsored by Geocaching every spring to help clean up our local parks.
It's an interesting event to chat with other geocachers.

 

The Society of Orion Migrating Travel Bugs

On the MORT 2006 Trip to Ohio the Society of Orion released four Travel Bugs.

Each of us named our Travel Bug after our favorite bird.  Track our Travel Bugs Here!

Migration Quest:  The Goal of Each Travel Bug is to reach a southern state and return to Minnesota!
